bendoeslife:

I missed June 1st weigh in because I had a sneaky suspicion it’d say something like this.
My last weigh-in was April 15th and now I’m up four pounds.
Feeling good about getting through my off-45-days and only gaining the four.
Do you want to know why the last 20 pounds are the hardest? It’s because they are the least important.
I look at myself and for the most part I’m comfortable and confident in my appearance. Yes, I want to get better. But my life is good. I’m no longer freaking out about every single thing I eat because I know that my life has changed and I’m not going back to my old self.
Most diets fail after four or five months. I’m on my 28th and I’m still down 126 pounds.
There have been a few ups, but there have been a lot more downs.
Got holes in m’socks. Happy Friday, y’all.

126lbs! Awesome!

My timed mile..

…is getting better at bootcamp.  I clocked in at 9:26 today.  During the run I felt like I was dragging and didn’t think I’d break the 9:30 mark(my goal).  But I guess I was pushing myself and it felt great to beat my goal.  So in just over a month I’ve improved my timed mile by 1:41.  Pretty good progress in my book.  I’m going to try for 9:00 by the end of this bootcamp.

My weight loss isn’t where I’d like to see it.  I’ve only lost about 8lbs since starting my program on 4/25.  I’m sure I can chalk up a few pounds to the losing fat but gaining muscle theory.  But I wasn’t eating the greatest food up until a few weeks ago.  I’ve changed my eating habits to include more fruit and less crackers and chips for snacks.  So hopefully June will be the start of major weight loss progress.

Last day…

…of my first bootcamp month…it was good but waking up at 5am is still harsh…at the beginning of camp we did fitness tests and a timed mile…my timed mile at the start of bootcamp was 11:07 and after 4 weeks I got the time to 9:58…I’ll take over 1 minute in improvement…I was really pushing and it was tough but it was worth it to see the improvement…hoping to be at 9:00 even by the end of the summer…on to the next session…

Do Life Tour: an appeal.
Three months ago when we announced the tour, we made the decision that we are committing to the tour whatever the cost or consequence. The idea of traveling the country and using our networks and platforms as a forum to encourage people to come together and help inspire each other was just too cool to pass up.
We have calculated the costs and are ready to take on the whole thing, and yeah, I feel like a tool asking for financial support. but your help and contributions would greatly help us making the most of the tour and not ending up homeless once all is said and done. We will be doing more tours in the future.
And don’t worry; the races/meetups/everything is free and we understand you might not be able to contribute. Your attendance and participation in these events is more important to us than the finances.
One clever blogger suggested that the entire community help sponsor the tour by providing tanks of gas, food, lodging, etc. So that’s the route we are taking.
The dates have been announced.
Races that fall on weekends will be held somewhere between 9 and 10 a.m.
Races that fall on weekdays will be held at 6:30 p.m.
The specific locations for each specific city will be announced on June 1st.
31 cities. 40 days. 12,000 miles. Three dudes. One dog. One van.
Thanks so much for your continued support.
And, yes, Sherman is driving.

Last week…

…of my first 4 week bootcamp session…I’m going to sign up for the next session soon…I really think it’s helping me to jumpstart a fitness routine…On my own I jogged 1.69 miles for the third Sunday in a row and it seems to be getting easier…so hopefully the results will get better…starting to think about a 5k…maybe in late July or August…

Are there any other good race sites besides Cool Running?
